Merry, Happy, Happy, Happy…too damn busy

Belated Merry Christmas, belated Happy New Year, belated Happy Anniversary (to me) and advanced Happy V Day.  Too much going on, no time to blog.

Let’s see…in a (gigantic) nutshell…

The lizard finally died…it was nothing short of a miracle that it lived as long as it did.

Dumbass 1 is out of the house…3 weekends ago…dumbass 3 has moved down to his room…that happened the following Monday.  I said I wanted his old room empty by the following Thursday so I can start painting Friday.  Guess what, nothing new, it didn’t happen.  Or it wouldn’t have had I not taken matters into my own hands.  Tuesday and Wednesday nothing changed.  Knowing him, it wasn’t going to get done Thursday after he gets home from school and before his mom picks him up…3 hours.  Mr. ADD would have stopped many times to enjoy the toys and other crap that he hadn’t seen for a long time.  It took me all morning and part of the afternoon just to empty that room.  Half the crap went in the garage, half went into his new room.  His stinky fridge I had to drag to his room…complete with applesauce and caramel apples that have been there God knows how long…something smelled like wine in there.

He wasn’t happy but he’d been told…”empty by Thursday”…and when I say that I mean, when I wake up Thursday it’s empty.  Not quite his idea…not my problem.  So…Thursday I took off the icky carpet.  Friday I cleaned the icky walls and started with the primer.  That was almost 3 weeks ago.  Work has steadily gone slower as time passed.  One reason for that is, I have a habit of slowing down if I take a break.  I took a break on my 5th wedding anniv…bad idea, not mine, but I went with it.  So the days after that I had a hard time getting back on the saddle, so to speak.  And I’d been taking Saturdays off because work takes most of the day on Saturday so I figured I don’t need more work at home.  Right now, the floor is about 2/3 done.  The headboard should be here this coming week, we have the bed frame in the garage.  I want new dressers.  Hopefully by this week it will be completed.  I’d been taking pictures of my progress.  When all is done, I will post pictures here.  Thank goodness for digicams…I didn’t have to note down what I did on what day.  I should be able to find out on what day I took the picture to know what all I did then.

Another reason I slowed down…my left arm is hurting.  I don’t know what I did to it or when it started.  The elbow and the wrist…and sometimes the thumb and forefinger…ache so much it keeps me awake sometimes.  I might have just overworked it but then again if that’s the case, my right arm should be hurting some as well.  I know for a fact I put my right arm through more work than I did my left.  But who knows…maybe my body is just as weird as my mind.

Anyway, the dishes are done.  I should put them away now.
